Mispillion Art League and Seashore Striders will host the 8th Annual Run for the Arts 5K RUN/1M Fun Walk! The run starts at 9:00 am Saturday, November 1st at Bicentennial Park in Downtown Milford. 206-218 NE Front St, Milford, DE 19963.
The race fee is $25 before 10:00 p.m. October 31st and $30 on race day. Race shirts to pre-registered participants (limited availability after Monday of Race Week- First come, first served).
Not a runner or walker? Professional sleepwalkers can stay in bed and make a contribution to a growing arts nonprofit!
Proceeds benefit Mispillion Art League, a non-profit organization founded in 2004 in Milford, Delaware. The group’s mission is to provide community-wide access to quality visual arts programs. They offers classes, exhibit opportunities, a gallery open to the public, a gift shop featuring local artisans’ work, and a number of events throughout the year. The league’s outreach program provides education opportunities to elderly and special-needs community members, at little or no cost to students. The organization works with Kent-Sussex Industries, Salvation Army Creative heARTS, and Home of the Brave Foundation for Veterans, plus monthly discounted senior workshops.
This organization is supported in part by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. The Division promotes Delaware arts events on www.DelawareScene.com.
