Overview

Next Upcoming Date:
Saturday, September 19, 2026

Ahoy, Mateys! It’s Talk Like A Pirate Day, and we want you to come down to the John Bell House to see what being a pirate was all about! Learn about how the Royal Navy conscripted people into service, and why working on a pirate ship might have been a better option. You can learn all about the local pirate legends of Delaware while you’re at it, participate in a pirate scavenger hunt around the Green to find treasure, and maybe even get a (temporary) tattoo from the Royal Navy! This is a drop-in program from 1 PM – 4 PM at the John Bell House. This program is FREE to the public.
This program is in part funded by the Delaware Division of the Arts.
