On Friday, February 13, 2026, Delaware Friends of Folk will present the next event in their 2025-26 Old State House concert series, inside the Old State House on The Green in Dover. This is the twelfth season in the series which is produced in cooperation with the Delaware Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs and First State National Heritage Park and is supported by a generous grant from the Kent County Fund for the Arts. The one-hour performance will begin at 7:30 pm. The concert is free and open to the public. Seating is limited.
The featured act this month is Rehoboth Beach resident Julie Derrick. Julie creates music soaked in rich, timeless storytelling with innate pop sensibilities. She writes songs about the trickiness of being human and does it with a smile and a catchy hook. She is influenced by talents like Brandi Carlile, Fleetwood Mac, Joni Mitchell and Paul Simon. After college, Julie moved to California, where she honed her songwriting, and played regularly in a number of clubs. Currently, she runs a trampoline park with her husband, serves as the VP on the local school board, sings on the Praise team at her hippie church, and is a mom to three children. In this stage of her life, Julie believes her songwriting is better than ever.
The Old State House concert series is presented by Delaware Friends of Folk. These events are supported by a grant from the Kent County Fund for the Arts, an organization that aims to enhance the quality of life, educate, and broaden perspectives by supporting the arts and arts organizations in Kent County. Support is also provided by the First State National Heritage Park, a partnership of State and City agencies under the leadership of Delaware State Parks and the Delaware Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs. Delaware Friends of Folk are partially supported by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
