Overview

Next Upcoming Date:
Friday, December 12, 2025

On Friday, December 12, Delaware Friends of Folk will present the next event in their 2025-26 Old State House concert series, inside the Old State House on The Green in Dover. This is the twelfth season in the series which is produced in cooperation with the Delaware Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs and First State National Heritage Park and is supported by a generous grant from the Kent County Fund for the Arts. The one-hour performance will begin at 7:30 pm. The concert is free and open to the public. Seating is limited.

The featured act this month is the Stanton-based duo Butch and Teri. Butch Zito grew up in Glen Cove, NY, but cut his musical teeth in Austin, TX from 1981-85. His songs are a mix of many genres of music, mostly in the “Americana” vein. Live Shows can be anything from Singer Songwriter, Jam-band or Bluegrass (otherwise known as “Butchie Grass”). He’s been invited on stage by Pete Seegar, Michele Shocked, Townes Van Zant, and David Bromberg. He has shared the bill with Nancy Griffith, Canned Heat, NRPS, Mickey Hart, JGB & The Wailers. Butch was awarded the 2014 Delaware Division of the Arts Fellowship for Established Artists. Performing solo and with several bands (Stackabones, BZB), Butch also performs with his wife Teri on vocals.

The Old State House concert series is presented by Delaware Friends of Folk. These events are supported by a grant from the Kent County Fund for the Arts, an organization that aims to enhance the quality of life, educate, and broaden perspectives by supporting the arts and arts organizations in Kent County. Support is also provided by the First State National Heritage Park, a partnership of State and City agencies under the leadership of Delaware State Parks and the Delaware Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs. Delaware Friends of Folk are partially supported by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. The Division promotes Delaware arts events on www.DelawareScene.com.
