American History Series: The Life of a Delaware Special Ops Soldier

Overview

In honor of Veterans Day, the American History Program will feature a presentation by retired Special Operations Soldier Christopher VanSant on Saturday, November 14, at 1:00 p.m. at the Milford Public Library in Milford, Delaware. A Delaware native and 1995 graduate of Caesar Rodney High School, VanSant is a retired 20+ year Special Operations Veteran who served in 11 combat deployments as both a Team Member and Team Leader in 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (Delta Force).  VanSant will discuss the highlights of his military career, including his service in Afghanistan, the invasion of Iraq, and the capture of Saddam Hussein. His program will also focus on loss, grief, injury, hitting rock bottom and the path to recovery.  Lastly, he will address his life after the service, which included taking lessons learned and incorporating them into a successful business model. VanSant has been seen and heard by millions through his appearances on the Shawn Ryan Show, and the Mike Force Podcast.
