Overview

The First State Heritage Park is Delaware’s first urban “park without boundaries” linking historic and cultural sites in the city that has been the seat of state government since 1777. It is a partnership of state and city agencies under the leadership of Delaware State Parks.

The main interpretive site, the John Bell House, located on Dover’s Historic Green, is open Thursday through Saturday, 9 am – 4 pm. Walking tours leave hourly at 11 am and 2 pm.

Guided tours are available at Legislative hall Thursdays and Fridays, 10 am – 1 pm, and First Saturdays 10 am – 3 pm.
