Overview
The First State Heritage Park is Delaware’s first urban “park without boundaries” linking historic and cultural sites in the city that has been the seat of state government since 1777. It is a partnership of state and city agencies under the leadership of Delaware State Parks.
The main interpretive site, the John Bell House, located on Dover’s Historic Green, is open Thursday through Saturday, 9 am – 4 pm. Visiting the John Bell House and interacting with the historic interpreters is always free!
Walking tours leave hourly from the John Bell House Interpretive Center at 11 am and 2 pm. Beginning June 4, Walking Tours of the Green will be able to be reserved online or paid for in person. The cost of the walking tours is $6 per person, for any participants older than 8. Click here to reserve walking tour tickets online.
Guided tours are available at Legislative Hall Thursdays and Fridays, 10 am – 1 pm.
