Ages 14 and up. The Lenape were a powerful Native American nation who inhabited much of the mid-Atlantic coast. By 1776, only small bands of Lenape remained in New Jersey and eastern Delaware, with many settled in and around the Cheswold area. Learn more about the Lenape’s tribal history with a documentary screening of “First People, First State” produced by 302 Stories, Inc. This powerful film honors and celebrates the voices, lived experiences, and profound resilience of the Cheswold Community Elders.
