Central Delaware Blues Society is Delaware’s official affiliate of the Blues Foundation. As such, we hold a competition to send a representative to compete in the International Blues Challenge each year.

  • Delaware’s 2024 IBC competition is scheduled for Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Del Vets Post 2 in Dover. The public is welcome to attend and watch the competition.
  • The entry deadline for our local IBC competition is October 6, 2024.
  • Individuals, Duos or Groups may enter.
  • We will also be submitting one self-produced CD to the Blues Foundation for the competition. The entry deadline for the Self-Produced CD is October 13, 2024.
  • Youth showcase bands / solo / duo are welcome to contact us at [email protected] to be considered in the IBC youth showcase during the competition week in Memphis. We are considering sending one youth group to the showcase.
  • CDBS has developed a complete set of guidelines for its Local/Regional IBC Challenge, and these guidelines. More: https://centraldelawareblues.com/ibc

CDBS will hold a fundraiser on Sunday, Jan 5, 2025 that helps Delaware’s representative with travel costs. There will be about 5 bands, a silent auction, food, raffle and other ways to help us raise funds that day.
