Caribbean Culture Awareness, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and preserving Caribbean heritage, proudly announces the return of the Delaware Caribbean Carnival, now in its second year. The celebration will take place August 14–17, 2025, across Dover and neighboring cities, bringing a vibrant wave of Caribbean spirit and unity to the First State.
Following the phenomenal success of the inaugural event in 2024, where thousands came to celebrate Caribbean culture, the 2025 Carnival is set to be even more spectacular. This multi day event invites participants to immerse themselves in the dynamic rhythms, flavors, and traditions of the Caribbean cultural exchange, pride, and community unity.
Event Highlights Include:
- Colorful Street Parades: Revel in the vibrant costumes, pulsating music, and joyful masqueraders dancing through the streets of Dover.
- Live Performances: Enjoy electrifying performances by top Caribbean artists showcasing the sounds of soca, reggae, dancehall, and more.
- Cultural Exhibitions: Discover the history, artistry, and cultural diversity of Caribbean nations through interactive displays.
- Family-Friendly Activities: Participate in hands on workshops, games, and entertainment for all ages.
- Culinary Delights: Indulge in authentic Caribbean cuisine from an array of food vendors, offering everything from jerk chicken to sweet plantains.
“Our mission is to celebrate and share the rich tapestry of Caribbean culture with the broader community,” said Eveann Jerry, Founder and Treasurer of Caribbean Culture Awareness. “The Delaware Caribbean Carnival is more than just a festival; it’s a movement, bringing people together through cultural pride and joyful expression.”
With Dover’s central location and welcoming community, the city provides the perfect backdrop for this celebration of heritage and unity. As Delaware’s capital, Dover reflects the rich diversity that the Caribbean Carnival aims to highlight and honor.
